Join us in an exciting collaborative fundraising event by Tropical Gothic X Uphold the Treaties (The Grassroots Grandmothers Circle) located at The Khyber Centre for the Arts on March 18!!!!!!!!!!! DANCE and SUPPORT and express your solidarity in this event!

The goal is to support the ongoing work by members of the grassroots grandmothers circle <3 <3 <3!
Treaty relationships and responsibilities on Mi’kma’ki means coming together with love, friendship & respect to take care of Mother Earth & all our relations, using our shared gifts as Indigenous and settler peoples. RISS
RISS is a sound project which synthesizes vocal experimentation, pop samplings and digital reverberations into commanding and seductive electronica. RISS composes these sonic collages of acoustic and cybernated sounds to explore themes of havoc, catharsis, divinity and romance.

ANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITA
Born in St. Lucia and raised in Toronto, aniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiita is a Kjipuktuk/Halifax based DJ known for high-energy sets that traverse across a diverse range of genres, including techno, hyperpop, jersey club, house, nightcore, and other electronic sub genres. Over the years aniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiita has played for Halifax Pride Festival at the Garrison Grounds, opened for Bambii (2019 JERK in Halifax), played at venues including the Khyber and the Marquee Ballroom, and DJ’d community events including Queer Prom (hosted by the Youth Project).

We recognize that with COVID, live music and events can be another layer of unsafe for many folks. We will create alternate offerings to this IRL space and be transparent about the steps that we are taking to create a safer bar environment.

🧚🏻All advanced ticket holders will be emailed with reminder to test before gathering. Folks purchasing at the door (if still available) will be asked if they have tested.

🧚🏻When not drinking or eating, wear your mask. Masks and straws will be provided.

🧚🏻Our HEPA will be working her magic before, during, and after the event to clean the air up and staff will be cleaning and sanitizing throughout.

🧚🏻Do not come to the event if you have symptoms, even if your test results are negative.

🧚🏻Be mindful of COVID impacts and keep yourself and others safe from the spread while also having fun and keeping your heart and mind healthy. OK?
